Hevel plugs in 6 new solar power plants

Non-Commercial Partnership Administrator of the Trade System of the Wholesale Power Market of the Unified Energy System (ATS corporation) has formally notified Hevel Group that since December 01 this year their six solar power plants are entitled with the right to enter the wholesale electricity and capacity market as load participants. It means that the routine activities have been completed in time and the new SPP’s built by Hevel have started the schedules power deliveries into the grid.
The three solar power plants – Pugachyovsky SPP (the Saratov region, 15 MW), Orlov-Gai SPP (the Saratov region, first turn – 5 MW), the Isyangulovo SPP (the Republic of Bashkortostan, 9 MW) – have launched the power supplies in the first pricing zone of the Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market (“Europe”). The Mayma SPP (the Altai Republic, two turns 10 MW each), the Onguday SPP (the Altai Republic, 5 MW) and the Bichura SPP (the Republic of Buryatia, 10 MW) are supplying power in the second pricing zone (“Siberia”).
Therefore, at present the on-grid solar power plants supervised by Hevel Group for the aggregate capacity of 129 MW are participating in the Wholesale Power Market and delivering power to the grid. These power plants are constructed in compliance with RF Government Decree No. 449 “On the Mechanism for the Promotion of Renewable Energy on the Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market” dd. Nay 28, 2013. The document stipulates generation of 1.7 GW of solar power in Russia by 2020.

Hevel switches on 10 MW solar park in Russia

Russian solar module maker and PV project developer Hevel Solar has announced it has connected to the grid a 10 MW solar plant in Russia. The Bichurskaya SPP solar plant is located in south-central region of Siberia, in the Bichursky District of the Republic of Buryatia. Construction on the project had started in May of this year. Hevel said that the installation relies by 70% on equipment produced by Russian enterprises of electrical engineering and metal-processing industry. Projects that use a large quota of locally manufactured PV products are entitled to receive higher incentives.

The project is part of an agreement that Hevel signed with the local government for the development of on-grid solar power plants with the aggregate capacity to 150 MW and off-grid hybrid power facilities with the aggregate capacity to 2,5 MW. The company added that the PV plant will help improve the reliability of the local grid and reduce power losses.

Hevel to raise capacity of heterojunction fab by 90 MW

Hevel modules installed on a 254 kW rooftop array owned by Russian Electric Motors.

Russian solar module producer and project developer Hevel Solar announced it will increase the annual production capacity of its PV panel factory in Novocheboksarsk, in the Chuvash Republic, Russia, from 160 MW currently to 250 MW by the end of 2018.

“The next step of production expansion will enable to launch production of 72-cells HJT monofacial and bifacial modules, which will increase the average module power up to over 400 W”, said the company’s CEO Igor Shakhray.

Hevel implemented the upgrade of its cell and module manufacturing facility between November 2016 and February 2017. German equipment provider Singulus delivered the machines from the type SILEX II to the PV manufacturer at the end of last year. Furthermore, Swiss company Meyer Burger also provided Hevel with PV production equipment for its HJT upgrade project. The new equipment allowed Hevel to finally convert its production line from silicon thin-film to heterojunction modules. In February, Hevel also announced that it has reached 21.75% cell efficiency for its heterojunction solar cells, while more recently the company has announced the efficiency of these cells has exceeded 22%.

Hevel said that it shall be supplying its PV bifacial high-performance modules to the domestic market in Russia, as well as to the Middle East and India. Hevel has a solar project portfolio of over 300 MW in Russia. All of these projects, which will be developed under the country’s FIT scheme for solar and renewables, were awarded in the auctions held by the Russian government until 2016.

Hevel Group plans to build three solar power plants in the Astrakhan region for the total capacity of 135 MW

Hevel Group and the Government of the Astrakhan Region have signed a partnership agreement on cooperation in the sphere of solar power development.

The agreement has been signed by the governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin and CEO of Hevel Group Igor Shakhray. According to the agreement, Hevel is implied to build three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 135 megawatts (MW) in the Astrakhan Region over the period of 2017-2019: SPP “Niva” with the capacity of 15 МW, and two more 60 MW SPP’s in the Privolzhsky (Funtovo settlement) and Akhtuba districts.

The solar power plants will be built in compliance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 499 dd. 28/05/2013 “On the Mechanism for the Promotion of Renewable Energy on the Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market”. The combined volume of investments may amount to up to 15 billion rubles”. The project investments are provided by the Hevel Group structures. The Government of the Astrakhan Region, in its turn, ensures the project’s comprehensive information and administrative support.

Construction of solar power generation objects will facilitate the increase of regional tax revenue, create new job sites the Astrakhan Region and will allow involving regional companies into project implementation for the period of SPPs’ installation, in terms of construction and installation work performance and construction of support structures.
