PPS Yaranga 2.0


The craft is a portable a PV power station converting solar radiation into DC electricity. It is meant for DC low-power customers with 5V and 12V operating voltage.

Energy consuming equipment:

— satellite phone (n.e. 17¸65 Wt);

— DVD –player (n.e. 17¸35 Wt);

—LED lamp (n.e. 5¸25 Wt);

— smartphone (n.e. 10 Wt).

The peak demand is not more than 135 Wt.

Yaranga should be placed to orient its segment with 4 solar modules on towards the south.


General Principles

The PV power station (PPS), consisting of semi-flexible solar modules, drops the regenerated solar energy to the battery charge controller (BCC). The controller regulates the battery charge level (with 12V operating voltage), providing the PPS maximum possible net power and averting extracharge and discharge in service. The cigarette ligher socker with a protective relief provides 12V DC voltage. The battery charge controller connects to DC/DC converter providing 5V DC voltage for its two output USB plugs.

The inverter has 5V and 12V DC jacks. The BCC inverter block is supposed to be placed inside the yaranga at plus degrees, however, the inoperative PPS may be transported at below-freezing temperature.
